Devereux is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential services, community living, day programs, and clinical services for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia and other cognitive disorders.

As a Cook, you will prepare all food items, manage food services operations, and ensure that the food service area remains clean, orderly and sanitized in an institutional setting. You will follow federal and state guidelines in the planning, preparing and serving of meals to individuals served.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing, serving, and transporting meals
• Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen
• Ensuring all dishes and utensils are clean
• Following a planned menu with special dietary needs outlined by a dietitian

This is a FT position in Goleta, CA. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm with some flexibility. No weekends! Compensation is $21-23/hr DOE.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma required. Must possess or be willing to obtain food safety certification.

Experience: Two years of experience, preferably in a similar setting preferred but not required. Educational requirements will be waived if candidate can demonstrate five (5) years' experience in food service, preferably in an institutional setting.

Physical Requirements: Free of dependency or abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substance. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 25 lbs. or more.

Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.
