Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Supervisor II directs and oversees the activities of Information Technology Specialist I's and Information Technology Associates who support the Workers' Compensation Information System (WCIS), Utilization Review (UR) and Doctors First Report (DFR) systems that interface with external trading partners and their systems, including oversight and management of ongoing support and maintenance as well as development and implementation of change requests and issue resolution.

Working Conditions

The incumbent will be assigned a space located on the 4th floor of the Elihu Harris State Building located in Oakland. The location has elevator access and is fully air conditioned with natural and artificial lighting. Telework will be allowed under certain circumstance or as job duties dictate. Most times, the incumbent will be working in front of a computer. A laptop will be provided.

Special Requirements

List all software applications that you have experience using in a job or educational setting and provide a paragraph explaining your depth of Supervisory experience managing Software Application Developers and Managing a new software application project from inception to completion.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Knowledge:
Software Development Life Cycle.
Supervisory and Mentoring experience of Application Development Staff.
Engage with business partners on business development strategies, IT Strategic Planning, Enterprise Architecture, Identity Management, Disaster Recovery, Quality Assurance, Security Risk Management and Data privacy and security.

Skills:
Hands on Experience and Familiarity with Oracle Application and Database Software, or its equivalent.
Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and business staff.
Possess detail oriented and effective organizational skills.
Maintain a high level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality; use sound professional judgment, exercise initiative, and objective action.
Experience working in Cloud Environments.

Abilities:
Work in a fast paced environment and deliver products and services without compromise.
Work cooperatively with all levels of OIS management and staff, other government agencies, and stakeholders to provide the highest level of service possible in person, by phone or email.
Consistently behave in an honest, fair, and ethical manner.
Develop and maintain knowledge and skills related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to department/division, directives, policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, leave, and conduct.
