The WCA ensures that the patients' physical and psychosocial needs are met in the clinic; all patients care is documented according to policy. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.Is responsible for making wound care decisions within his/her scope of practice (as described by licensure and/or hospital policy) relating to patient care and performing other duties and functions that include, but are not limited to those described.Utilizes effective human relations and communication skills when interfacing with physicians, practitioners, patients/families/significant others and takes positive action to resolves patient care problems. BLS certification and renewal as required.Experience: Preferred, but not required.Equipment/Technology: Has the ability to successfully and competently utilize computer software for operation of department.Language/Communication: Has the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format.Mathematical Skills: AverageMental Capabilities: Able to exercise independent judgment with attention to detail. Must have the ability to concentrate for long periods of time in order to complete assigned tasks with a better than average attention span, in order to listen, read and remember verbal and written instructions. Can understand input from the director concerning errors and instructions.Performance: Able to deal with difficult client situations and emergencies in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to handle conflict issues with both patients and staff. Able to maintain confidentiality.
