About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: Not specified Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of experience preferred License: Active RRT License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP if NICU trained Must-Have: - The candidate must be certified as an RRT. - The candidate must have an active RRT License. - The candidate must live 100+ miles from the facility. Description: Position involves administering respiratory treatments to patients. Daily treatments include managing 5-6 ventilators and 35 respiratory treatments during a 12-hour shift. Types of patients include adults, pediatrics, and neonates (if NICU trained). Role includes attending all deliveries and C-sections for NICU trained staff. The position covers inpatient areas and a freestanding emergency department. The traveler is not required to intubate independently but must assist with the procedure. There is always an Intensivist on site 24/7. A Charge RRT supervises each shift. Travelers will not be the only RT in the main hospital but may work alone in the freestanding emergency department. Equipment used includes various ventilators and tools for intubation. Schedules may not guarantee a block schedule but will try to accommodate preferences. Every other weekend is required for coverage. Travelers are expected to work two of three major holidays. Floating to the freestanding emergency department may occur, within a short driving distance.
