Overview Music Teacher - Special Education Help Group is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse, mental health, and social-emotional challenges. The organization offers diverse programs and resources including academic programs, mental health support, therapy, life coaching, vocational training, specialized social and residential programs, and resources for LGBTQ+ youth and families. Position Details Role: Music Teacher - Special Education Location: Culver City Start Date: Early August for the 2026-2027 Regular School Year Employment Type: Full-Time Salary and Sign-On Incentives

• 10,000 for Moderate/Severe credentialed Teachers
• 7,500 for Mild/Moderate credentialed Teachers or Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
• 3,500 for PIP/STSP/Intern eligible Teachers (CBEST required)

Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver vocal and/or instrumental music instruction for elementary through high school students, including classes and production groups of up to 14 students Coordinate class schedules with school administration and support music programming during school hours, with occasional after-school and weekend productions Collaborate with teacher specialists to align music curriculum with state academic standards Plan and oversee student performances, including organizing productions, creating promotional materials, and communicating with families to coordinate volunteers Use a multidisciplinary approach by working with staff to support students' behavioral and cognitive needs, and collaborate with the drama teacher as musical director when needed Participate in staff meetings, professional development, supervision sessions, and assist with school events and other assigned duties Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required Special Education credential is preferred; or the ability to qualify for an Intern Credential Provisional Internship Permit or Short-Term Staff Permit Relevant experience in vocal and/or instrumental music instruction At least 5 years of experience teaching music to children in individual, group, or classroom settings At least 2 years of experience working with children with special needs Experience producing or directing children's musical performances is preferred Knowledge of positive behavior management strategies and the ability to follow supervisory guidance Strong communication, collaboration, and computer skills Benefits Sign-On Bonus options as listed above Professional Development Support: Reimbursement of CEUs Tuition reimbursement towards earning a Special Education Credential Mentorship Opportunities Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance with options for 100% employer-sponsored plans 403b Retirement Plan 529 College Savings Plan Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Account Sick Leave Benefit Hub - Employee Rewards and Incentives Pet Insurance Learn more about our school programs at: Notice The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of Help Group.
