The City of Chisholm, MN. Is accepting applications for the position of

PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

JOB DEFINITION

Plans, organizes, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Public Works, Public Utilities and Cemetery Departments; including property, plant, and equipment maintenance, garbage and recycling, storm and sanitary sewers. Work with related civic groups. Attends Council and/or Committee meetings as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and four (4) years previous public works experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Fleet, tools, specifications and purchasing. 
• 3 years of verifiable supervisory experience.
• Considerable knowledge of property, plant, and equipment maintenance including street, sewer, and water maintenance and repairs.
• Appropriate language skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and basic financial statements
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with employees, consultants, other governmental agency representatives, City officials and the general public.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with labor relations.
• Ability to make independent judgments which have significant impact on the City.
• Valid CDL or the ability to obtain one in 1 year.

OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of applicable City policies, laws, and regulations affecting department activities.

Wages: Annual Salary $ 107,717.75. This is position is part of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) Labor Agreement.

Benefit package includes: PERA, Sick Leave, Holiday, Vacation, Emergency Leave, Insurance, and Earned Sick and Safe Time.
