Mental Health Associate I - Geropsych/Linden Oaks - Evening Shift

Position Highlights Position: Mental Health Associate I Sign on bonus: N/A Location: Linden Oaks Hospital; Naperville, IL Part Time/Full Time: Part Time (20 hours) Hours: Evening Shift (3:00-11:30pm) Rotating Holidays/Weekends required A Brief Overview The Mental Health Associate I provides direct patient care to patients with mental health disorders. The role involves treatment planning and implementation while facilitating groups within assigned treatment programs. The Associate ensures the safety and well-being of patients by maintaining a safe environment and documenting according to department and organization procedures. What you will do Facilitate didactic, educational, and unit/program community groups within assigned treatment programs; encourage patient participation in therapeutic activities; supervise patients to ensure their safety and involvement in treatment. Ensure patient safety by providing one-to-one supervision; conduct unit rounds and complete precautions records in real time, ensuring accurate labeling. Orient new patients to unit, program, and milieu by establishing rapport with patients and families, making necessary introductions, and providing appropriate handoff information when accepting or receiving patients from other units. Participate in treatment planning by working with interdisciplinary team to identify patients' problems, needs, and strengths; suggest modifications to treatment plans based on observation of patient behavior; provide input into discharge planning. Complete patient, program, and department documentation. Perform various clerical and administrative assignments to support department operations. Monitor and report patients' progress and communicate information to charge person on assigned shift and family members. What you will need Education and/or Experience Required A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Behavioral Health related field, no previous experience required. A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a non-Behavioral Health related field, with a minimum of one year of behavioral health experience. Maintain information as highly confidential. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision. Education and/or Experience Preferred Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology. Skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living. Prior experience with therapeutic limit-setting and milieu management. Licensure and/or Certification Required A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, they must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire. Current CPR certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross.
