JOB SUMMARY:
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes and fulfilling the goals and objectives of Advanced Pain Care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Current registration with ARRT and successful completion of Basic Life Support
- Three to five years of radiologic technologist experience preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care
- Utilizes proper positioning of patients, proper image identification, professional patient care and assessment and maintains proper documentation
- Prepares patients for exams by communicating the need to remove garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure, and explaining how the process works
- Adheres to medical and standard precautions as required per procedure
- Performs clerical duties, transports patients as required and processes images
- Administers contrast media and other medications as directed
- Assists with quality control/performance improvement, including maintaining radiographic equipment
- Closely follows provider instructions and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process in order to help provider diagnose problems
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure safety of patients and staff members
- Monitor video display of area being scanned and monitor patients’ conditions and reactions to procedures, reporting abnormal signs to physician
- Adheres to all Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures
- Has regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Knowledge of X-ray equipment

- Ability to handle confidential patient information
- Ability to document accurately and precisely
- Ability to produce high quality images consistently

Physical Requirements
Good visual acuity, accurate color vision. Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling, and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape. Computer skills preferred.
