Marketing Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in‑person role based at our Austin, Texas campus. Traditional schools teach students what to think. This position exists to train them how to execute. Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or rote‑memorize material. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, experiment with ideas, and cultivate real‑world capabilities that many adults never acquire. Your responsibility is to ensure they actually do this work, and do it at a high standard. You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and build the confidence, communication skills, and competence required for success beyond the classroom. You are here to coach execution, establish rigorous standards, maintain accountability, and challenge students to produce work that holds up in professional contexts. What You Will Be Doing Create and facilitate hands‑on workshops (40% of your time) covering subjects including entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal branding, and other practical domains; leveraging your own professional background. Provide 1:1 coaching to students (60% of your time) as they execute real projects—businesses, marketing campaigns, coding products—using targeted questions to identify obstacles and drive measurable advancement. Maintain rigorous expectations around confidence, communication, and capability; step in when performance declines and establish concrete commitments during each session. Train students in the use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) for content generation, refinement, and efficiency. Maintain direct communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and upcoming objectives. What You Won’t Be Doing Conducting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum. Grading large volumes of homework or emphasizing theoretical concepts. Coddling disengaged students or reducing standards to preserve comfort levels. Working within a slow‑moving, bureaucratic educational institution. Essential Requirements Documented history of significant personal achievement in at least one real‑world domain: launching a company, scaling an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent. Demonstrated capability to coach teenagers through resistance or avoidance behaviors. 3+ years of experience coaching or mentoring teenagers. Direct, transparent communication style: confident presenting to groups, providing candid feedback to teenagers and parents. Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.). Available to work on‑site in Austin, TX; relocation support provided. Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Specialized expertise in at least one practical field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative industries, finance, athletics) that can be integrated into coaching sessions and workshops with depth. Background working in a startup or high‑growth organization at any capacity. Compensation $50 USD/hour ($100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year). Location In‑person, on‑site at our Austin, Texas campus.
