Remote Accounts Payable Manager

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join our team in a flexible, part-time capacity.

This position is designed for an experienced accounting or finance professional who is currently employed and looking for a flexible opportunity that can be performed alongside an existing full-time position. The role requires approximately 16 hours per week , with scheduling flexibility designed to accommodate professionals with existing work commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the company's accounts payable activities.
• Review, verify, and process invoices, bills, and payment requests.
• Ensure invoices are accurately coded and properly approved before payment.
• Monitor vendor accounts, payment schedules, and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation.
• Assist with payment processing and cash-flow-related activities.
• Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable records.
• Monitor payment deadlines and help ensure timely payments.
• Review AP reports and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
• Help improve accounts payable procedures, controls, and workflows.
• Work closely with accounting, finance, procurement, and management teams when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience managing or coordinating accounts payable functions is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage invoices, payments, records, and deadlines accurately.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, or similar financial systems.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial information.
• Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely, where applicable.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $115,000–$125,000
