We value and share an infinite range of ideas and voices that evolve and broaden our perspectives with a reach that extends into all our brands, partners, and suppliers.The Maintenance Mechanic is part of the Mattel Fort Worth Distribution Center team.Job DescriptionThe opportunity:What your impact will be:Strong understanding of mechanical principles with the ability to diagnose and repair complex machineryExperience performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipmentAbility to identify mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, and complete necessary repairsProficiency in replacing worn or defective parts to restore equipment functionalityKnowledge of inventory management, including tracking and ordering spare partsCommitment to following all safety regulations and maintenance proceduresAbility to coordinate with operations staff to minimize downtime and resolve equipment issues efficientlyExperience with general building maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, and grounds upkeepAbility to assign tasks, monitor work quality, and ensure compliance with company standards and proceduresStrong attention to detail to ensure work is completed accurately and neatlyAbility to guide and advise team members on proper use and care of tools, equipment, and suppliesEffective communication skills to report progress on work orders and escalate unresolved issues to leadershipQualificationsWhat we're looking for:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredMinimum of 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related fieldExperience working in a distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferredDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systemsExperience handling or working with chemicals or industrial compoundsRequires working knowledge of power tools and maintenance equipmentFamiliarity with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance tracking systems (CMMS experience a plus)Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work ordersStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesProven ability to work independently as well as part of a teamPhysical ability to lift, climb, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on repair workAbility to read and follow instructions as provided by management. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and customer contacts. Effectively communicate progress to management.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in a standardized environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Current Driver's License, current forklift certificationWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 0 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts while working around forklifts, clamp trucks, other maintenance equipment, fumes or airborne particles generated by propane forklifts, and outside weather conditions as the warehouse doors are generally open at all times of the year.
