Construction Inspector

Role Description Arcadis seeks a full‑time Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management Team in Atlanta, Georgia. The role reports to a Resident Engineer or Project Manager and may lead other inspectors on municipal water and wastewater treatment plant, pump station, pipeline, electrical/instrumentation, civil, and related construction projects. Responsibilities Observe and inspect contractor work, perform punch‑list inspections, and review drawings, specifications, and related technical documents. Prepare detailed daily activity and progress reports/photos, and participate in project schedule and contractor invoice reviews. Maintain quality assurance requirements, monitor code compliance, and identify deviations from contract documents. Communicate required corrections to contractors professionally. Review submittals and recommend technical solutions. Attend construction meetings, safety updates, and project site coordination meetings. Monitor and document contractor resource utilization for field changes and material work, and assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes. Verify equipment and material installation for payment purposes and maintain Payment Quantity documentation. Perform mathematical calculations necessary during inspections. Ensure Arcadis’ project safety guidelines are met during daily inspections. Travel locally to project sites, client meetings, and construction oversight as required. Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications 3 years of experience in water distribution or sewer collection piping installation and/or repair. Key Skills/Attributes Identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions to problems; strong math aptitude; ability to multitask priorities; solid time‑management skills; proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook). Must be able to work year‑round in varying weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of civil or utility construction inspection experience. Strong background in civil and mechanical inspection on small to large infrastructure projects. Possession of NASSCO certifications (ITCP, PACP, MACP) and Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection System certifications. Additional certifications in ACI, NICET, or Erosion and Sediment Control are advantageous. OSHA training—OSHA‑10, Confined Space Entry, Trenching and Shoring—preferred. Active participation in regional or national professional associations is encouraged.
