Project Manager (Multifamily Developer)

A fully-integrated real estate developer headquartered in downtown Chicago is looking for a driven and passionate Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on leading multifamily construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring high quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to budget and safety standards. Responsibilities Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project plans and timelines are accurately followed. Assist in contract preparation and review, including change orders and purchase orders, maintaining comprehensive documentation. Oversee quality control processes, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions to meet industry standards and building codes. Support budget development and monitoring, reporting discrepancies or potential cost overruns to the project management team. Participate in procurement by obtaining bids, evaluating proposals, and coordinating vendor selection and logistics. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays, cost overruns, and safety hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawing revisions, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documents, both electronically and physically. Foster strong relationships and effective communication with internal teams, external stakeholders, and subcontractors, and provide project updates during regular meetings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project engineering or management, preferably within the multifamily or commercial sector. Strong understanding of construction principles, building codes, and regulations. Proficiency with construction project management software, including scheduling, document control, and collaboration tools. Excellent organizational, time‑management, prioritization, and multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities with a keen eye for detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating across diverse teams and stakeholders.
