Patient Service Representative Connect Care PRN

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Patient Service Representative Connect Care PRN based in the United States.

This is a fully remote, part-time healthcare support role serving as an important first point of contact for patients.
You’ll help create a positive patient experience by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and supporting the intake process.
The role combines customer service, healthcare administration, electronic medical record management, and payment-related responsibilities.
You’ll communicate with patients through phone, in-person interactions, and secure messaging while protecting sensitive health information.
The position requires strong organization, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to resolve patient needs efficiently.
You’ll work collaboratively with healthcare providers and colleagues in an environment focused on quality, compassion, and patient satisfaction.
This PRN opportunity offers remote flexibility for candidates who meet the applicable location requirements, with no guaranteed weekly hours.

Accountabilities:

• Provide courteous, professional, and compassionate support to patients through telephone, secure messaging, and other approved communication channels.
• Identify, understand, and resolve patient needs related to intake, appointments, care coordination, and general service questions.
• Accurately document patient interactions, calls, and relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Schedule appointments for clinical visits, procedures, diagnostic testing, referrals, consultations, and other services.
• Register patients by confirming, entering, and updating required demographic and guarantor information while following appropriate patient-identification procedures.
• Collect and process insurance cards, identification documents, signatures, and other required forms.
• Verify relevant insurance information and accounts, including coordination of benefits and, when applicable, pre-certification or prior authorization requirements.
• Assist patients in completing forms required for regulatory, billing, and clinical purposes and ensure documentation is properly scanned and recorded.
• Educate patients about available financial assistance programs and proactively request and process payments for current or outstanding services according to established procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of role responsibilities, processes, updates, and operational communications to consistently meet service and performance expectations.
• Participate in relevant meetings, review assigned work queues and communications, and remain informed about changes affecting patient access and service delivery.
• Protect patient privacy and confidential information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), in accordance with applicable requirements and organizational policies.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, providers, caregivers, and colleagues to deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience.

Requirements:

• At least 6 months of customer service experience involving direct interaction with customers.
• Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, data entry, and navigating software applications.
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain a patient-focused approach in customer-facing situations.
• Strong adaptability, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to accurately handle sensitive information and documentation.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately protect patient, member, caregiver, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with patients and colleagues through phone, messaging, and other communication channels.
• Preferred: 1 year of customer service experience involving both in-person and telephone interactions.
• Preferred: experience with billing, collections, or payment processing.
• Preferred: experience using electronic medical records (EMR) and related healthcare software.
• Preferred: high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: multilingual capabilities.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and learn other software applications and systems as required.
• Ability to meet the physical and communication requirements associated with the position, including reading and interpreting documents and computer displays, frequent computer use, verbal communication, and hearing and understanding information accurately.
• Must be able to perform required manual computer tasks and, where applicable, stand for extended periods or assist patients with entering or exiting a clinical setting.
• Must reside in an eligible US location; candidates residing or planning to reside in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, or Washington are not currently being considered for this remote position.
