Medical Support Specialist - LPN

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations and report to the Plasma Center Manager. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results; notify donors of unsuitable results. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician's standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; graduate program in a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified: LPN or LVN in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits and Compensation Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 per hour.
