ABOUT TOLEDO IRON WORKS

Toledo Iron Works is a South Florida custom architectural metal fabrication company specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects.

Our work includes custom railings, stairs, gates, fences, architectural features, pergolas, cladding, glass systems, and other specialty metalwork throughout South Florida.

We don't build cookie-cutter products. Our projects require coordination between architectural drawings, field conditions, engineering, shop drawings, fabrication, finishing, installation, and demanding construction schedules.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can step into active projects, solve problems, and immediately help move work forward.

This is not a desk-only project management position.

THE ROLE

The Project Manager is responsible for taking awarded projects from turnover through fabrication, installation, punch, and final completion.

You will act as the connection between our clients, general contractors, architects, engineers, drafting department, fabrication shop, vendors, and installation teams.

We need someone who is comfortable walking a job site in the morning, reviewing drawings with our drafting team that afternoon, coordinating fabrication with the shop, and speaking with a GC about schedule or field conditions before the end of the day.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes ownership.

When something is holding up a project, your job is not simply to report the problem. Your job is to understand it, communicate it, develop a solution, and help drive the project forward.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

PROJECT OWNERSHIP

* Manage multiple custom architectural metal projects from turnover through completion.

* Review contracts, proposals, scopes of work, architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

* Understand exactly what Toledo Iron Works is responsible for providing on each project.

* Develop and maintain project schedules and critical milestones.

* Identify potential delays, conflicts, missing information, or coordination issues before they become larger problems.

* Follow through on open items until they are resolved.

FIELD & SITE COORDINATION

* Visit active job sites throughout South Florida.

* Verify field conditions, dimensions, elevations, substrates, access, and installation readiness.

* Assist with field measurements and layout when required.

* Attend contractor coordination and site meetings.

* Coordinate directly with superintendents, project managers, owners, and other trades.

* Identify conflicts between drawings and actual field conditions.

* Verify that areas are ready before installation crews are dispatched.

* Inspect installations and help manage punch-list items and corrections.

DRAWINGS & TECHNICAL COORDINATION

* Read and understand architectural and structural drawings, shop drawings, details, and specifications.

* Review shop drawings for scope, dimensions, constructability, and field coordination.

* Coordinate revisions and approvals with our drafting team, clients, architects, and engineers.

* Track submittals and approvals so fabrication is not unnecessarily delayed.

* Help ensure approved information is properly communicated to fabrication and installation teams.

FABRICATION & PRODUCTION COORDINATION

* Work directly with our drafting, purchasing, fabrication, finishing, and installation departments.

* Track projects through drawing, material procurement, fabrication, finishing, and installation.

* Coordinate materials, hardware, accessories, and specialty items required for each project.

* Confirm that projects are truly ready before they move to the next stage.

* Help resolve fabrication and installation questions quickly.

* Maintain awareness of what is happening in the shop—not just what the schedule says should be happening.

CLIENT & CONTRACTOR COMMUNICATION

* Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned projects.

* Maintain professional relationships with general contractors, architects, designers, owners, and vendors.

* Provide proactive project updates rather than waiting for clients to ask for status.

* Communicate schedule impacts and project issues early and clearly.

* Document important decisions, approvals, field conditions, and changes.

* Assist with identifying and documenting change-order conditions when work falls outside the original scope.

INSTALLATION & CLOSEOUT

* Coordinate installation schedules with our internal team and the job site.

* Confirm site readiness, materials, hardware, drawings, and accessories before installation.

* Monitor installation progress and address field issues quickly.

* Review completed work for quality and compliance with project requirements.

* Manage punch lists through completion.

* Obtain required approvals and documentation necessary to close projects successfully.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED

* 5+ years of construction project management or closely related experience

* Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings

* Experience coordinating construction projects involving multiple trades

* Strong understanding of field conditions and construction sequencing

* Comfortable visiting active construction sites and interacting with superintendents and field personnel

* Ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Strong follow-through and attention to detail

* Comfortable holding people accountable and being held accountable

* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to projects throughout South Florida

* Comfortable using construction software, PDFs, Microsoft Office, and project-management systems

HIGHLY PREFERRED

* Experience with Division 05 – Metals

* Experience with ornamental metals, miscellaneous metals, structural steel, stairs, railings, gates, glass railings, or architectural metalwork

* Metal fabrication or manufacturing experience

* Experience reviewing shop drawings

* AutoCAD familiarity

* Experience coordinating directly with architects, engineers, general contractors, and fabricators

* Bilingual English/Spanish

A college degree is welcomed but practical construction experience, technical knowledge, and proven project leadership are more important to us.

THIS POSITION MAY NOT BE A GOOD FIT IF...

This position is probably not the right fit if you prefer managing projects entirely from behind a desk, need every task assigned to you, are uncomfortable reading construction drawings, avoid difficult conversations, or tend to wait for problems to resolve themselves.

Our projects move quickly and involve custom fabrication, changing field conditions, demanding schedules, and coordination between many different people.

We need someone who enjoys that environment.

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience

SCHEDULE & LOCATION

Full-Time – Monday through Friday

This is an **in-person position** based in Miami, Florida and requires regular travel to project sites throughout South Florida.

Occasional early mornings, extended hours, or weekend coordination may be required based on project and installation needs.
