Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Monument Health and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Monument Health.

Required Skills/Experience: ED and Medical Surgical inpatient care experience required; minimum 1 year, which can be a mix of ED and MedSurg. Experience with a team nursing approach (Nurse + RT + Imaging).

Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. Requested time off will not be accepted between 8/5/26-8/20/26. Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler.

Unit Details: Medical Surgical, intermediate level, outpatient infusions. Diagnoses include stroke, MI, and trauma. Uses Space Lab. CNA support: 6-12 patients for 1-2 techs. Charge nurse is responsible 24/7 for Medical Surgical, ED, and outpatient. Phlebotomy caregivers are on campus during business hours, then on call. IV/VAT support is provided by the charge nurse. RT is in house Monday-Friday 7-3pm. No hospitalist coverage.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: entire team works rotating shifts, no set weekends, self-scheduling. No call. Holidays will be assigned as needed.

Floating Requirements: Floating within scope of practice and below.

14 days maximum time off

2 Manager/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
