GroundskeeperThe University of Indianapolis is currently accepting applications for a Groundskeeper. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position. The Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep of grounds, amenities, academic and residential building exteriors, athletic complexes, parking lots and peripheral properties owned and controlled by the University.RESPONSIBILITIESCare and upkeep of all outdoor areas on campusCare and monitoring of health of all turf/landscape areasPrunes perennials, shrubs and trees using appropriate techniquesLandscape installation and renovationMowing, edging, line trimming and fertilization of turf areasMaintain artificial turf athletic fieldsSet up for sport events; includes clean up during and after gamesMaintain all asphalt areas such as parking lots and roadsRemove all trash and debris from groundsMaintain and operate campus wide irrigation systemMaintain University vehicles and equipmentAssist in snow/ice removal for campusAssist other departments in projects and set ups when neededAdhere to all safety standards and work practices established by FacilitiesQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED requiredPossession of a valid driver's license required - Candidates must also pass a driving record checkAbility to pass physical, drug screen, and lift assessment requiredAbility to lift 50 pounds (unassisted) requiredOvertime and weekend work will be requiredVacation approval may be limited during peak activity periodsPreferred experience, one year grounds/turf maintenanceBENEFITSMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceFree ParkingTuition Discount
