Highway Maintenance Technician

Highway Maintenance Technician Position Summary Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. (Jorgensen) is currently seeking a full‑time Highway Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance operations throughout all of Bexar County, Texas. This role involves a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, tree and brush removal, pothole repair, heavy equipment operations and compliance with federal, state and local regulations and company policies. Reporting Location Technicians will report to the project yard located in Adkins, TX. Required Experience 0–2 years of related experience in maintenance, repair, or installation of guardrail, cable rail, or crash cushion Roadway or tollway maintenance experience Concrete form work, placement, and repairs Operator of wheel loader, skid‑steer, forklift, or similar equipment Responsibilities Tree and brush removal Pothole repair Sign repair Guardrail repair Heavy equipment operations Hand rail installation Incident response Preferred Experience Roadway maintenance or construction experience MOT certifications Traffic control experience Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Clean driving record and ability to pass background check Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Basic arithmetic skills Ability to maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Proficiency in using smartphones and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Ability to work safely under various environmental and weather conditions Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to operate hand and power tools Schedule Full time. 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday. Must be flexible and available for on‑call, day and night shifts. Compensation Salary depends on licenses, certifications and experience.
