Make a meaningful impact by facilitating communication and inclusion for students in educational settings as a Sign Language Interpreter. Multiple contract openings are available, supporting students across different grade levels and school environments near the Saint Charles, IL area.

Current Openings:

• Full-time assignment supporting an elementary student.
• Part-time roles (Monday–Friday, half days) working with students at the high school level.

Key Qualifications:

• 3.5+ EIPA with current ISBE certification, or 3.0+ EIPA with IBSE approval.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 school settings highly preferred.
• Strong command of American Sign Language and an understanding of Deaf culture.
• Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to build rapport with students and educational teams.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide effective, accurate sign language interpretation and voice transliteration between students, staff, and faculty.
• Facilitate access to academic content, social interactions, and extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate closely with educators and other support staff to address students’ individual needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional guidelines and ethical standards.
• Exhibit flexibility and responsiveness to adapt interpreting style as student needs evolve.
