Job Title: Underground Electrician

Department: Site – Henderson (Colorado)

Reports to: Project Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary)

Performs the installation, maintenance, and repair of all underground site electrical equipment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Responsibilities

• Ensure he understands the company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Ensures personal protective equipment is used as required.
• Utilizes Proper procedures for electrical duties.
• Isolates electrical power to equipment for others as required in accordance to project lock out procedure.
• Troubleshoots equipment using testers and by referring to wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in their workplace.
• Repairs and maintains all equipment in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.
• Utilize the 5-point safety system as specified within the site safety management system.
• Other duties as assigned

• Ensure work is completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner

Major Responsibilities

• Tradesman must ensure they have a good understanding of the electrical systems, electrical procedures, and maintenance programs
• Work closely with electricians to learn and develop as an Electrician
• Maintain and update all required logbooks

Health & Safety

• Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation
• Incorporate Health and Safety considerations in all functions and daily activities of the position
• Monitor work environment for health and safety hazards or infractions and reports the same to Health and Safety Department
• Keep work area clean and free of clutter
• Use proper equipment for the job, i.e. stepladder vs. chair

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, Technical degree, or equivalent preferred
• 7 years Electrical experience, 4 years as a licensed Electrician

Certificate(s), License(s), Registration(s)

• MSHA Underground Certification required
• Electrical Trade Certificate - certified for 480 volts
• Valid Drivers Certificate

• Must have a good understanding of the electrical systems, electrical procedures and maintenance programs
• Decision making and prioritization skills
• Possess problem solving, critical thinking skills
• General knowledge of applicable mining regulations, safety codes and acts
