JobSummary The Laboratory Technician is responsible forperforming materials testing and documentation across Asphalt, Soils, andConcrete disciplines in support of FDOT-compliant construction projects. Thishands-on role works closely with field inspectors, project engineers, and plantpersonnel to ensure material quality and specification compliance. Thisposition offers a clear pathway to grow into an Asphalt Plant Inspector rolefor motivated individuals. KeyResponsibilities Perform standardized laboratory and field testson soils, and concrete materials in accordance with FDOT, AASHTO, andASTM standards. Accurately d ocument test results. Maintain, calibrate, and inspect laboratoryequipment to ensure accuracy and compliance. Enter test data into laboratory Information management software. Identify and report any deviations,non-conformances, or quality concerns. Adhere to safety protocols and environmentalcompliance requirements. This position offers a clear pathway to grow into Senior Laboratory Technician and Field Inspector roles including Asphalt Plant Inspector role. High-performing Laboratory Technicians will have an opportunity for advancement into variety of jobs. Schedule& Location Schedule: Full-time| Flexible hours based on project needs Start Date: Immediate Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED 0–3 years of experience in laboratory work Ability to perform basic math calculations Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently. Basic knowledge of FDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM testing standards is a plus. PhysicalRequirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physicaltasks for extended periods in outdoor environments. Comfortable working in high-heat environments,including asphalt plant and field settings.
