Plycon is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee fleet maintenance operations from its La Mirada, California headquarters. This is a critical leadership role responsible for maximizing fleet reliability, improving equipment utilization, controlling maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance across a national transportation operation.

The Fleet Manager will lead all aspects of fleet maintenance and equipment management while partnering closely with operations and executive leadership. Success in this role requires outstanding organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and, most importantly, exceptional automotive mechanical aptitude.

The ideal candidate understands commercial vehicles inside and out and can confidently evaluate mechanical issues, oversee repairs, implement preventive maintenance strategies, and improve overall fleet performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet maintenance and repair operations.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance vendors and repair facilities.
• Ensure DOT, FMCSA, and company safety compliance.
• Monitor fleet performance, maintenance costs, and equipment utilization.
• Diagnose maintenance trends and implement continuous improvements.
• Minimize downtime while maximizing equipment availability.
• Supervise maintenance-related personnel and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial transportation fleets.
• Strong automotive and diesel mechanical aptitude is required.
• Working knowledge of trucks, trailers, diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and fleet maintenance best practices.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
