Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach

Purpose This position assists the Head Coach with all aspects of the Men's soccer program, including coaching, recruiting, training, and student‑athlete development, while supporting the department's mission and the University's commitment to academic and athletic excellence. Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities Assisting in the planning and execution of daily practices and training sessions. Providing on‑field coaching and skill development under the direction of the Head coach. Supporting the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student‑athletes in alignment with the NCAA and GLVC regulations. Coordinating team travel, managing equipment, and contributing to game day operations. The role is instrumental in fostering a positive team culture that promotes academic achievement, athletic excellence, personal growth, and accountability. Maintaining compliance with all University, NCAA, and conference policies. Supporting student‑athlete academic progress and overall well‑being through collaboration with departmental staff. Assisting with video analysis, scouting reports, and game preparation, while representing the program at departmental, campus, and community events as needed. Qualifications Experienced in coaching soccer and/or working with soccer student athletes. Prior competitive soccer experience (playing or coaching). Current driver’s license and ability to travel with the team. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed to support team operations. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with soccer student athletes. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear, including the use of a telephone. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
