Field Service Engineer (SDB/SEM)

Salary: $90,976 - 136,381 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a candidate with a bachelors degree and at least 5 years of hands-on technical experience in electronic systems, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of advanced analysis equipment such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or comparable platforms.
• You should bring extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage systems, or similar technologies.
• You must be able to work effectively with customers and maintain a professional, service-oriented approach.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with professional working proficiency in English.
• You need a proven track record of repairing sophisticated systems and subsystems down to component level.
• You should be comfortable working in MS-DOS and Windows environments.
• You must be able to read and interpret schematics.
• Familiarity with UHV principles and technology is required.
• You must be able to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as needed.
• A valid drivers license is required.
• You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and the role may involve lifting 40 lbs. without assistance in a laboratory environment while using appropriate PPE.

• We will have you install sophisticated equipment on site and follow testing procedures to confirm proper operation.
• You will perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits at customer locations.
• You will diagnose issues and carry out repair support for customers and other field team members.
• You will build and sustain positive working relationships with customers, system users, and internal colleagues.
• You will travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve issues or support other field service staff.
• You will prepare and submit field service reports.
• You will train customers and users on system maintenance.
• You will share feedback with product quality teams.
• You will contribute written updates and corrections to system documentation.
• You will help identify and isolate unresolved system issues in reporting.
• You will serve as a subject matter expert and training resource.
