Respiratory Therapist II Wkd Non-NICU (Nights)

Overview Wellstar Paulding Hospital, Hiram, GA Position: Weekend Respiratory Therapist (Night Shift 7pm-7am) Responsibilities Provides customer service and completes patient care documentation and education. Promotes a team spirit and positive work environment, supports students and staff. Administers quality patient care, performs patient assessment for respiratory therapy, and collaborates with healthcare team members to plan care. Verifies orders and administers aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen and medical gas therapy. Performs ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, and airway management (intubation, extubation, trach tube change and care). Performs arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Educates patients and mentors or precepts new employees, students, and peers. Assists in invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. Promotes current and accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging. Promotes a high level of patient safety (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc.). Supports performance improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and review of revised and new DPPs. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with at least 20 quarter hours of science. Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred. 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care. Ability to communicate well, think critically, establish relationships with physicians and other health professionals, and possess computer skills including familiarity with databases. Strong customer relationship, assessment, and communication skills. Licensure & Certification Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required. Respiratory Care Prof required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
