ABOUT THE ROLE

JC Automation is seeking a Automation Engineer to support in Carolina PR, for an initial term of six (6) months.

The ideal candidate will combine technical automation expertise with project leadership skills and will be comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, IT, and other site stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• BS in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical, or Industrial).
• 2-4 years of experience with demonstrated learning agility, or 5–10 years of proven experience in a similar automation/controls position. 
• Experience and knowledge of DeltaV and instrumentation (smart and conventional) 
• Prior experience with alarm management or rationalization studies (e.g., ISA-18.2 / EEMUA 191 principles) is strongly preferred.
• Computer systems validation experience in regulated (GMP) operations.
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel and alarm management/reporting tools such as Logmate).
• Logical, systematic approach to problem solving, with the ability to manage multiple priorities based on business needs.
• Strong communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

SKILLS

Technical Skills

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for alarm configuration within DeltaV systems in the designated areas.
• Develop and maintain the master alarm database and support rationalization documentation.
• Configure and/ or validate approved alarm changes within the automation systems, ensuring compliance with data integrity requirements throughout the change life cycle.
• Provide frontline troubleshooting support for DeltaV alarm-related issues, as applicable, and support ongoing training of operations and maintenance personnel on rationalized alarm response.
• Review SOPs, drawings, schematics, and work orders related to rationalized alarms and send them to the SME.

• Provide engineering support and project management by:

  • Leading the alarm rationalization, configuration, testing, and/or validation activities for implemented alarm changes.
