Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-6th grade students in a self-contained classroom environment. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule, running from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (37.5 hours weekly). You’ll be part of a dedicated educational team, positively impacting children with diverse academic and behavioral needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification required
• Experience working with elementary-aged students
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient demeanor
• Ability to address and manage challenging behaviors with effective strategies
• Team-player mindset, comfortable collaborating with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction to students in a self-contained classroom for grades K-6
• Modify curriculum and provide accommodations based on individual IEPs
• Manage a caseload with multiple learning and behavioral needs
• Utilize positive behavioral interventions to foster a productive learning atmosphere
• Maintain communication with parents, counselors, and fellow educators regarding student progress
• Participate actively in staff meetings, conferences, and professional development
