This role serves as the primary point of contact for cardiology clinics, managing communications both via telephone and at the front desk with professionalism and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer and direct telephone calls.
• Warmly greet patients and visitors, ensuring a respectful and compassionate interaction.
• Effectively communicate with patients and their families, keeping them well-informed.
• Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into the system.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations regarding patient information.
• Schedule appointments following established protocols.
• Assist patients and guardians with patient portal setup during visits.
• Conduct patient confirmation calls and guide patients to complete necessary registration paperwork online.
• Demonstrate empathy and respect in all interactions.
• Take and process messages promptly and accurately.
• Update patient demographic and other required forms at each encounter.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments at the time of service.
• Inform patients about their financial responsibilities related to insurance coverage.
• Work independently while meeting commitments, handling change, and maintaining focus under pressure.
• Exhibit strong teamwork and punctuality.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference given to graduates of accredited medical receptionist programs or candidates with two years of healthcare experience.

Experience

Preferably two years of experience in a general medical office or similar healthcare setting, with demonstrated responsibility and customer service skills.

Certifications

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Requires considerable mental focus. Physical activities include lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Work Environment

Medical office setting with occasional exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
