SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

This is a full-time position. The person in this role will be the 0.5 Resource Room teacher at Rock Creek and the 0.5 Resource Room teacher at Springville. This person will work closely with the full time Resource Teacher at both schools. The weekly schedule for this position will be determined once building schedules have been created and we can talk with the Special Education Teams at each site. Rock Creek is located at 4125 NW 185th Ave, Portland, OR 97229. Springville is located at 6655 NW Joss Ave, Portland, OR 97229. The two schools are about 2.5 miles apart. Preferred Qualifications As a member of the Special Education Teams at Rock Creek and Springville, this position requires a strong partnership between the other Resource Room teacher, the Speech and Language Pathologist, and the School Psychologist at each school. Together the Special Education team works closely with the counseling team, the administrative team, and the Academic Support team to create pathways to success for all students requiring more academic support. We are looking for candidates with Resource Room experience as well as a strong understanding of IDEA, IEP, and the associated paperwork.
