About the Position

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 3-5 years preferred License: ARRT-R (with VI or CV credential) or RCIS required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Experience assisting with advanced interventional procedures. - Intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment. - Ability to assist with complex procedures, including wire exchanges. - Familiarity with specialty devices. - Strong troubleshooting skills for imaging equipment. - Ability to act quickly in emergency situations. - Knowledge of radiation safety and vascular anatomy. - Effective communication skills with team, patients, and families. Description: Assists in advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, and FEVAR. Able to help with complex procedures, including multiple wire exchanges and usage of long wires and OTW balloons. Skilled in using specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari, and shockwave. Circulates, monitors, and scrubs all interventional vascular procedures. Troubleshoots imaging equipment and collaborates with biomedical engineers for service. Participates in procedural charging and maintains supply management. Acts quickly under emergency situations and communicates effectively with physicians. Cross-trains as needed to support departmental needs. Understands and works with x-ray systems and recognizes different angles. Manages access sites, including sheath removal and hematoma assessment. Knowledgeable in radiation safety concepts and various types of lesions. Adheres to sterile techniques and maintains effective communication with the healthcare team.
