Research Engineer - Avionics Hardware

Salary: $113,000 - 153,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• No prior professional experience required; academic, internship, co-op, laboratory, senior design, or research experience involving electronic hardware, circuit design, embedded systems, avionics, or electrical testing is relevant.
• Experience or coursework with schematic capture, circuit simulation, laboratory instrumentation, PCB/CCA development, embedded electronics, or electrical troubleshooting is preferred.
• Familiarity with C/C++, Python, MATLAB, SPICE/PSpice, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, or similar engineering tools is desirable.
• Valid, clear drivers license required.

• Support the design, development, analysis, integration, and testing of avionics electronics, circuit card assemblies, and embedded hardware for aerospace and defense applications.
• Assist senior engineers with schematic capture, component selection, interface definition, circuit analysis, laboratory troubleshooting, and verification of analog, digital, and power electronics.
• Create and update schematics, bills of material, interface definitions, wiring information, and basic electrical design documentation under experienced engineers guidance.
• Conduct circuit calculations, component research, tolerance reviews, bench measurements, troubleshooting, and laboratory tests of analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal electronics.
• Help build, bring up, integrate, and test prototypes, circuit card assemblies, embedded electronics, avionics interfaces, sensors, and related test equipment.
• Use electrical engineering tools for schematic capture, simulation, data analysis, documentation, and configuration control.
• Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, mechanical, test, and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical issues and support hardware integration and verification.
• Prepare engineering documentation, calculations, test procedures, reports, design updates, and technical data for development, qualification, and sustainment activities.
• Build practical knowledge of avionics hardware design, electrical interfaces, embedded electronics, test equipment, engineering processes, and applicable aerospace and defense standards through hands-on project work.
