We began our partnership with Texas Orthopedics in 2020 to provide management of their therapy services. We are searching for a Physical Therapist looking to join an organization that seeks to elevate the experience as we encounter each patient we serve. This career opportunity allows you to practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with the opportunity to evaluate and treat a variety of surgical and non‑operative patients. You will encounter a diverse caseload that includes upper and lower extremity as well as spine patients. The therapist will administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Our clinical education and mentorship allow for a successful transition from PT school to this clinical setting Responsibilities Review physician’s referral (prescription) and patient’s condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required. Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and record findings to develop or revise treatment programs. Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data. Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function. Administer therapeutic exercises to improve strength, ROM, flexibility, and cardiovascular function. Instruct, motivate and assist patient to perform various physical activities to achieve functional goals. Instruct, motivate, and assist patient to perform various physical activities and in use of assistive and supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes and prostheses. Administer treatments involving application of physical agents. Administer treatments involving application of various modalities and physical agents including hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, TNS and dry needling. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Administer massage. Administer traction to relieve pain. Record treatment, response and progress in patient’s chart or enter information into computer. Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Evaluate, fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modification to orthotist. Conferring with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient’s health care. Orient, instruct and direct work activities of assistants, techs and students. Plan and conduct lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students and community groups. Plan and develop physical therapy research programs and participate in conducting research. Consult and practice with a variety of other professionals, such as physicians, dentists, nurses, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists and audiologists.
