Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care routines, helping with activities of daily living, and supporting residents in community and recreational activities. The DSP promotes independence, encourages social engagement, and follows individualized care plans to ensure safety, comfort, and well-being. The role involves clear documentation of services provided, communicating observations to supervisors and clinical staff, and participating in team meetings and ongoing training. The DSP is expected to maintain a professional, compassionate approach at all times and uphold organizational policies and standards of care.\nQualifications\n\n\n Candidates should possess skills and experience in Human Services, including providing direct care and support in residential or community-based settings.\n Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, interact effectively with residents, families, and team members, and document care accurately.\n Candidates should possess knowledge related to supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, including understanding behavior supports, safety practices, and person-centered approaches.\n Candidates should possess a commitment to ongoing Training and professional development, including participation in mandatory orientations, in-service sessions, and skill-building workshops.\n Additional beneficial qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience as a DSP or caregiver, basic computer skills for documentation, reliability in attendance, and the ability to lift, transfer, and support residents safely.\n
