About Memtech Brush

Memtech Brush is a small, established manufacturing company specializing in custom and industrial brush products. We work directly with customers across a variety of industries to provide dependable products, responsive service, and solutions tailored to their applications.

We are looking for a motivated and personable Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This is an important customer-facing role combining inside sales, account management, quoting, order support, and new business development .

Because we are a small company, we're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and seeing the direct impact of their efforts. You'll work closely with our customers as well as our production, purchasing, shipping, and management teams.

This is not strictly an order-entry or customer-service position. Providing excellent service to our existing customers is an important part of the job, but we're also looking for someone who will actively follow up on opportunities, develop customer relationships, reconnect with former customers, and help grow sales.

What You'll Do

Inside Sales & Account Development

• Proactively follow up on open quotations and customer inquiries to help convert opportunities into orders.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers.
• Regularly contact customers to identify new projects, products, or additional business opportunities.
• Reach out to inactive and former customers to understand their current needs and work to reestablish business.
• Follow up on new leads and incoming inquiries rather than waiting for customers to initiate contact.
• Look for opportunities to expand business within existing accounts.
• Maintain an organized system for tracking quotes, leads, customer follow-ups, and sales opportunities.
• Work with management to identify accounts and opportunities worth pursuing.
• Balance proactive sales activity with excellent service and support for our established customer base.

Customer Service & Account Support

• Serve as a primary point of contact for new and existing customers by phone and email.
• Respond promptly and professionally to questions regarding products, pricing, availability, lead times, and order status.
• Build long-term relationships by providing responsive and dependable customer service.
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding order changes, delays, backorders, or other issues.
• Troubleshoot customer concerns and work toward timely, practical solutions.
• Coordinate with other Memtech team members when customer questions require additional technical or production expertise.

Quotes & Order Management

• Prepare customer quotations and follow up on outstanding quotes.
• Receive, review, and accurately process customer purchase orders.
• Review orders for pricing, quantities, specifications, shipping requirements, and requested delivery dates.
• Monitor open orders and help ensure customer expectations are communicated internally.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and shipping regarding customer requirements and delivery expectations.
• Help resolve order discrepancies and other customer issues.
• Maintain accurate customer, quote, order, and follow-up information in company systems.

Product Knowledge

You do not need to come to Memtech already knowing the brush industry. We will teach you our products.We do expect you to be interested in learning.

The Inside Sales Representative will develop a working knowledge of Memtech's:

• Product lines
• Custom brush capabilities
• Manufacturing processes
• Materials and product terminology
• Customer applications
• Quoting and order processes

The goal is to become comfortable enough with our products and capabilities to confidently guide customers and recognize potential sales opportunities.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organized, personable, dependable, proactive, and comfortable talking to customers .

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in inside sales, account management, customer service, or another customer-facing business role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A professional and confident telephone presence.
• Excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfort working with pricing, quotations, purchase orders, specifications, and basic business math.
• The ability to manage multiple customers, orders, quotes, and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new business software.
• An interest in learning technical products and manufacturing terminology.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a small, collaborative team.
• A willingness to take initiative and solve problems rather than waiting to be directed.

Most importantly, candidates should be comfortable initiating customer contact and following up by phone . We're looking for someone who enjoys developing business and customer relationships—not simply responding to incoming requests.

Experience in manufacturing, industrial sales, distribution is a plus

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in business, sales, engineering, or a technical field is a plus.
