Field Survey Technician Department: Survey Employment Type: Full Time Location: Garden City, Long Island Compensation: $30.00 - $50.00 / hour Description Stonefield Engineering & Design, a full‑service Professional Consulting Firm, is recruiting enthusiastic and goal‑driven candidates for our survey division. As Stonefield is a multi‑disciplinary firm, interest in cross‑disciplinary work within the field of civil engineering and consulting is encouraged. Key Responsibilities Job responsibilities will include locating and driving stakes into the ground, transporting necessary supplies to and stocking the field vehicle, proper care and maintenance of equipment, properly and safely using tools such as hammer, machete, chainsaw, and shovel, clearing survey centerline of obstructions, painting and marking laths, and properly operating a level rod and prism pole. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise The following minimum requirements are expected of candidates: High School Diploma or GED. Requires the ability to bend and stoop repeatedly and to move objects for long distances. Must be able to work in the field in a variety of weather conditions, and out of town work possible. Must have good handwriting skills for marking stakes. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Strong communication and organizational skills. Self‑motivation.
