Financial Counselor

Our revenue cycle department is looking for a Financial Counselor to help support DMOS patients with financial obligations. This position will focus on working with patients to explain billing, pre-collection, payment arrangements, and concerns about billing transactions. Frequent patient contact on the phone and email is necessary. We are looking for someone who understands the orthopedic surgical space, billing concerns and has empathy to help patients attain the services they need. Financial Counselors are professional, friendly, and caring. This is a full-time (40-hr) position located at our Des Moines office with hours 8am-5pm (Monday - Friday). Here’s What You Can Expect Provide Financial Counseling to DMOS patients and following up on their account balances. Answering patient account billing questions in person and over the phone. Establish payment plans and assist patients with financial assistance programs. Monitor accounts receivable for payment arrangements in conjunction with billing office. What We're Looking For Minimum of 1 to 2 years of prior billing/collection experience in a medical setting. Prior experience in assisting people through the financial portion of medical claims and EOBs. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in a professional manner with individuals with varying backgrounds. Why DMOS? Friendly, fun, and dedicated peers.
