Qualifications Qualifications: Education:
- Experience or degree seeking in fitness, training, or related field, and/or demonstrate proficient instructional ability in teaching functional exercise.
- CPR/AED certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- First Aid certified preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency in teaching functional exercise to patrons and be able to provide assistance when needed.
- Demonstrate use of the all weight and cardio machines to patrons and be able to provide assistance when needed.
- Recognize an emergency and provide appropriate care in a timely fashion.
- Customer service, problem solving, phone and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Previous experience working with students, public or community, preferred.
- Preferred not required teaching exercise or exercise program development.
- Provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Visually recognize an emergency.
- Provide assistance to patrons by correctly spotting basic lifts, including but not limited to; a squat, chest press, and shoulder press.
- Reach all parts of the Fitness Equipment in order to clean and maintain exercise machines, free weight and small equipment.
- Lift [up to] a 45lb plate to rerack it in its proper location without assistance.
- Record participants, answer phone calls and verbally communicate with internal/external inquiries.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
