Future Foundations Academy – Public school for students ages 8 to 21 with Autism Spectrum Disorders Future Foundations Academy 1690 Stelton Road Piscataway, NJ 08854 Position Available: Transitional Coordinator and Job Coach Assistant Term: Ten (10) Month Position Start Date: September 1, 2026 – Pending Criminal History Clearance Qualifications Holds valid NJ Driver's license. Holds or must obtain CDL within 2 months of employment. Teacher certification or certification and/or experience in a related area. Knowledge of special education code as it relates to transition activities, knowledge of ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and DOL Child Labor Laws. Knowledge of existing local and state agencies that support the transition process (e.g., DVRS, DDD, SSI). Highly qualified in the area of job coaching special needs students in community and/or vocational settings. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and employers. Experience in collaborating with agencies, parents/guardians and districts. Demonstrated attitude for successful completion of tasks assigned. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Commission may find appropriate and acceptable. Scope : Reports to building principal/administrator or Superintendent's designee. Terms of Employment : Full‑time position. Salary to be established by the ESCNJ Board of Directors. Performance Responsibilities Design and implement travel training for students with disabilities. Outreach to the local business communities to provide work‑based learning, including career tours, group or individual internships, and employment for students with disabilities. Ensure that eligible students are provided with an ongoing community‑based vocational program. Work with the building principal/administrator, the student’s teacher(s) and members of the school community to assess the vocational needs and the physical and learning capabilities of those students requiring community‑based vocational placements. Meet with each assigned student on a regularly scheduled basis for job coaching. Obtain contacts and work sites in the community necessary for vocational instruction through the procedures established by the ESCNJ. Assess, on an ongoing basis, student strengths and weaknesses, and provide appropriate activities to meet student needs. File written progress reports on each assigned student with the ESCNJ building‑level principal and/or administrator and the sending district. Student Management Facilitate a positive and orderly learning environment for the assigned student. Maintain and file reports and records as required, including attendance reports and case evaluations. Instructional Planning Coordinate, with the advice of the student’s regular teacher or teachers, an instructional program for each assigned student receiving a community‑based program. Coordinate with the student’s teacher(s) and appropriate district personnel the ongoing evaluation of the student, including providing grades where appropriate. Professional Development Keep informed of educational trends and new methods in vocational education, and adapt these to the particular needs of the students. School/Community Relations Cooperate with parents/guardians of students to implement the appropriate instructional program. Cooperate with the classroom teacher of students having job coaching/vocational training. Properly complete all required materials from work sites. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the ESCNJ building‑level principal/administrator or Superintendent's designee.
