Clinical Services Coordinator (BH/DS Clinician IV)
The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a talented Clinical Services Coordinator to work in the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center Facility. This candidate will perform complex diagnostic and clinical planning, supervision, specialized therapy/treatment and management of treatment programs such as Post-Dispositional Program (Post-D), Community Placement Program (CPP), Community Assessment Program (CAP), and the Re-Entry Program. The ideal candidate will have four years' experience as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and be licensed or license eligible as a LCSW, LPC, LCP, or higher with the state of Virginia.
Specific duties include:
- Plan, organize, and direct Post D program operations in conjunction with other Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center, Human Services Department, and City staff.
- Collaborate with several stakeholders including the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Court Service Units (CSU), the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court (JDRC), a variety of private providers, and non-profit agencies.
- Provide clinical services that support the residents' physical, social, and emotional well-being while in the facility to include facilitating individual and family therapy sessions, encouraging family involvement, facilitating groups, coordinating, and implementing individual treatment plans, discharge planning, developing progress reports, and making recommendations to the court and DJJ.
- Provide training for counselors to include behavior modification, crisis intervention, child abuse and neglect prevention, suicide prevention, MAYSI-2 Assessment, Vulnerability Assessment, PREA, maintaining professional boundaries, and avoiding self-harm. Observe, monitor, and assist in evaluating work performance of staff assigned to Post-D Program and on their assigned work team shift.
- Provide leadership and clinical advice to administration, supervisors and counselors who assist in the evaluation and treatment of the residents.
- Complete documentation, progress reports, transition plans and chronological notes in JCS and BADGE; maintain effective working relationships with City officials, DJJ, stakeholder agencies, court services, Community Service Boards, social services, and law enforcement personnel.
- Perform clinical administrative functions to support quality control systems to improve program's clinical services. Enhance professional development to incorporate new behavioral technologies in rendering client care.
- Provide case management services in coordination with court service units, parents, and service providers.
- Supervise Community Justice Personnel seeking their Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) certification.
