AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN I - OAHU

Responsibilities Independently performs the full range of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on computerized systems in motor vehicles, utilizing equipment such as scanning instruments, oscilloscopes, and digital voltmeters to test electronic systems, diagnose problems, and perform microprocessor‑related repairs; conducts journey‑level mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work on motor vehicles; and performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Legal authorization to work: must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Four (4) years of automotive repair experience at the journey‑level, with at least two (2) years involving use of computerized equipment to test, analyze, diagnose, and repair microprocessor‑based systems on motor vehicles. Valid State of Hawaiʻi Safety Inspection Certificate at the time of hire, or willingness to obtain the State of Hawaiʻi Vehicle Inspector Certificate before the end of the probationary period.
