Cortez - Open Pit Growth Geologist II/III

Position Description:Nevada Gold Mines is looking for Geologist III at Cortez open pit mines. This position is tasked with mine geology, ore control, and executing drill programs activities to derisk the mine plan, expanding current reserve and resource, identifying new and economically viable ore zones that will have a significant impact on the mine's earnings and growth, and incorporating data and interpretation into the geologic model. The ideal candidate will possess a background using Acquire, Leapfrog, Deswik, and Vulcan mining software and capable of working with a diverse team of mine geologists, technical services staff, mine operations, and diamond drillers. This role requires an individual who is safety oriented.Responsibilities:· Driving zero harm workplace through stop work responsibility and other safety programs in place.· Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships with key departments (Engineering, Operations, Process, Environment, Growth, Exploration, Safety and Finance).· Build technical knowledge for geological mapping, drilling, and logging programs.· Ensure best practices are utilized, understood, and followed.
