GENERAL ADULT GASTROENTEROLOGISTS

Forgivable Loan of Up to $200,000 (subject to approval)

The annual salary for full-time positions ranges from $582,000 to $600,000 , with additional potential incentives reaching up to $60,770*. Opportunities for reduced schedules with prorated compensation may also be available.

*Some incentive figures are estimates based on potential premium pay.

We have openings in the Modesto/Stockton area. Experience with ERCP is a plus.

• The department currently has 6 full-time equivalents (FTEs), with plans to hire three more. One FTE will join in August 2022, bringing the total to 7 FTEs next year.

• Our GI department is supported by approximately 40 staff members, including 2 RNs and 1 LVN per procedural room, along with a Unit Director, Unit Manager, and 2 Charge RNs. One RN and one LVN are on call.

• Consultations in the clinic are scheduled for 30 minutes, while follow-ups range from 15 to 30 minutes.

• On procedure days, we conduct up to 7 procedures in the morning and 6 in the afternoon.

• We offer ERCPs, Spyglass, EMR, and fibro scans locally.

• The Modesto and Stockton clinics are located 30 miles apart.

• Modesto serves as the hub for GI services in the Central Valley Area. The Modesto hospital is connected to the Modesto Medical Office Building, where procedural space is located. The Stockton clinic is just 10 minutes from St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC), which is co-owned by Kaiser and Dignity Health). GI patients from SJMC are transferred to Modesto.

• Approximately 75% of Kaiser inpatient services utilize Modesto hospital, making it our primary inpatient hub.

• The call structure is shared among physicians and is equitable. When fully staffed, each doctor will cover one weekend every nine weekends. During weekdays, one physician covers Modesto while another is on call for Stockton, primarily handling phone calls as patients are transferred to Modesto. On weekday nights, one physician covers both locations from Friday at 6 PM until Monday at 6 AM.

• We have an ER residency program, along with residents from the UC system and students from Northstate who rotate through. There are teaching opportunities available, including involvement in the new GI fellowship program in San Francisco.

• We are seeking candidates with interests in general GI or advanced ERCP.
