To learn more about Baptist Health, visit us at Summary The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of patients. The Therapist will work in conjunction with other team professionals to provide patient care, provide education for patients and their families, and to assist with discharge planning. This individual may be asked to assist with training and/or supervision of COTA or Rehab Technicians. Additionally, the Therapist must have the ability to work cooperatively with Physicians, other staff members, patients, and their families with dignity, courtesy, and respect. The Therapist will pay close attention to detail and provide superior level of care. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience Master's or Doctorate graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy required. License / Certification Active OT license required, BLS required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must also be skilled to provide general discipline-specific therapy services to meet patient care requirements. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain a professional and customer-centric composure in difficult or challenging situations. Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization. Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
