Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be pivotal in guiding patients through both routine and critical care situations. Your responsibilities will include performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various care environments. You will have access to cutting-edge respiratory technology, mentorship from seasoned RT leaders, and the support of a reliable, collaborative team that will foster your success and ongoing professional development. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Evaluating respiratory status through focused examinations, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and determining the necessity for respiratory interventions.
• Administering evidence-based therapies by providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placements, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and swiftly addressing clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and assisting in stabilizing newborns during deliveries when necessary.
• Ensuring equipment safety and maintenance by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory devices; confirming readiness and conducting preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection prevention protocols.

Qualifications Required:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• Tennessee State licensure (RRT/RCP-State) as a Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
