Research & Development Manager (Nutraceuticals)

A fast-growing, Los Angeles-based women's health company is seeking an R&D Manager to help develop and commercialize innovative products across women's health, wellness, supplements, and personal care.
The role will support both new product development and existing portfolio optimization , working closely with the VP of R&D and cross-functional partners to move concepts from research through launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop differentiated, science-backed products from concept through commercialization
- Research ingredients, emerging trends, novel formats, and product feasibility
- Conduct literature reviews and prepare scientific substantiation for product claims
- Coordinate development timelines and help keep projects on track through launch
- Review formulations, samples, specifications, efficacy, and cost targets
- Support packaging/artwork review and regulatory compliance
- Provide scientific support for marketing materials, landing pages, and consumer-facing content
- Reformulate and optimize existing products as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline
- 3–6 years of experience in R&D, product development, and/or regulatory affairs within supplements, functional foods, skincare, or related consumer health categories
- Strong technical research, ingredient evaluation, project management, and vendor-management skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Candidates must be authorized to work full-time in the US
