Registered Nurse (RN) | The Link

Location Avera Behavioral Health Center Link, Sioux Falls Position Type and Shift Regular. Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (United States) Pay Range $32.50 - $48.50 per hour, actual pay rate dependent upon experience. Position Highlights This position may be eligible for a $18,000 sign‑on bonus with a 3‑year commitment. What is The Link? The Link is a community triage center located in Sioux Falls that assists individuals who are experiencing a non-violent behavioral health crisis, seeking treatment for substance abuse disorders or searching for support services. As a community triage center, The Link assists in meeting the individual's needs for critical services and linking them to services to assist with their mental health or substance abuse challenges. Candidate Profile Passion for serving individuals who need assistance with withdrawal management, substance-use disorders, and crisis stabilization. Experience with observation and care of intoxicated individuals. Ability to thrive in an active, challenging care environment that requires critical thinking. Values autonomous professional nursing practice. Motivation to help create and deliver high-quality patient care in an energizing team environment. Unit Highlights Opportunity to work with 20 different staff members and a dynamic, comprehensive team that includes physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, paramedics, triage techs, social workers, and behavioral health techs. Self-scheduling program. Student loan repayment. Student Loan Repayment Program This RN position may be eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps pay off loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) helps pay down your principal balance faster. Shift Details 7:00 am – 7:00 pm / 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, 72 hrs/2 weeks. Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; and re-evaluating care objectives. What you will do Review physician prescriptions and provide patient care. Communicate the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to team members. Coordinate with healthcare providers. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Conferr with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, influencing social factors, conferring with family and friends, and establishing nursing diagnosis, objectives, interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instruct patients, families, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answer questions and provide information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against care standards, reviewing records, noting changes, re-evaluating objectives, and modifying plans. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, and legal regulations; alert others regarding potential concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following operational instructions and established procedures; troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance; call for repairs. Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate for the duties and the ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing. An active license in the state of practice upon hire. Preferred: 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
