Description The Sewing Finisher performs all tasks involved in the sewing department including cutting, measuring, sewing and inspecting. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Operate equipment to cut, sew and adjust machine functions as necessary using dials, pedals, levers, panel buttons, etc Perform hot knife cuts and sew gaskets Sew rod pockets Monitor quality throughout the shift by inspecting each part before and after it is produced for dirt, debris, and quality Keep supplies readily available and organized Maintain a clean and organized work environment Count, sort, and stack finished work pieces and dispose of waste material Clearly label raw material, work in progress, and finished goods Assist in production and packaging areas as time allows Fosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration and empowerment Follows all safety and workplace policies Competencies and Skills Ability to read a tape measure Ability to read and understand patterns and prints Willingness and flexibility to perform various job tasks in the shop Ability to demonstrate and apply our workplace values Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment Education/Certification High School Diploma or GED Experience Industrial Sewing experience is a must Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting may be required throughout the workday.
