Pipe LayerWe are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join a growing site and utility construction team in the Baltimore area. This individual will be responsible for installing underground utility systems and working alongside equipment operators and laborers to complete site development and utility projects safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesInstall underground utility pipe, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systemsRead and understand blueprints, grade stakes, cut sheets, and project specificationsSet and align pipe to proper line and gradeAssist with trench preparation, bedding, backfill, and compactionWork closely with excavator operators to safely install pipe and structuresInstall manholes, inlets, catch basins, valves, and other utility structures as neededEnsure pipe joints, connections, and installations meet project specificationsUse lasers and other grading equipment to maintain proper elevationsAssist with layout and preparation of underground utility workMaintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company and jobsite safety proceduresWork as part of a crew and assist with other site and utility construction activities as neededQualificationsPrevious experience as a Pipe Layer or Underground Utility Crew MemberStrong experience installing water, sewer, and/or storm drainage systemsAbility to read construction plans and understand line and grade requirementsExperience working around excavators and other heavy construction equipmentKnowledge of trench safety and underground utility construction practicesAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsReliable transportation and ability to report to jobsites throughout the Baltimore areaAbility to perform physically demanding work and lift materials as neededPreferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in site development, heavy civil construction, wet utilities, stormwater systems, and municipal utility work are strongly preferred.
