What You Will Do As a Utilities Mechanic I, you will assist in the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems within the County. Working under the direction of a supervisor, you will perform equipment repairs, maintenance, and replacement. The work you do will support safe and efficient operations in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Essential Duties Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and components associated with water treatment systems and facilities. Install new and replacement equipment and components. Coordinate major equipment repair with vendors and contractors. Assist with work as required. Assist in the operation of water treatment systems, facilities, and specialized equipment as required. Maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools. Collect samples, compile data, and complete routine paperwork, including logs and reports. Maintain parts and hardware inventory. Follow all established safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency. Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.
